Lyxor’s IG bond ETFs switch to sustainable indices

Lyxor recently decided to switch the underlying indices of five of their corporate bond ETFs to new Bloomberg Barclays indices for the following reasons:

  • Bloomberg Barclays is an industry leading fixed income index provider
  • The new indices are a broader, more diversified and accurate representation of their respective underlying markets
  • They take into account ESG criteria, ensuring only issuers with an MSCI ESG Rating of BBB or higher are included, with negative screens for those involved in certain business activities (e.g. weapons, alcohol, tobacco…) and for companies with a “red” MSCI ESG Controversy Score

The impacted ETFs are as follows:

Please also note that over the past three years, the Lyxor USD Corporate Bonds UCITS ETF has benefited from a discounted TER of 0.09% compared to the maximum of 0.15% stated in the fund prospectus. It will continue to benefit from this discount for another year, however in September 2020, the TER will change from 0.09% to 0.14%. As it stands today, we should still have the most competitively priced sustainable USD IG corporate bond ETF on the market, even after the eventual TER change.

The index switches affecting our floating rate note ETFs were completed on the 12th of August 2019, while those affecting the other three corporate bond ETFs were completed on the 26th of August 2019.

If you have any questions or require further details on these changes, please get in touch with your local sales or client service representatives.
